91_HB2001 LRB9102080LDmb 1 AN ACT to amend the Liquor Control Act of 1934 by 2 changing Section 7-8. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by 6 changing Section 7-8 as follows: 7 (235 ILCS 5/7-8) (from Ch. 43, par. 152) 8 Sec. 7-8. For each city, village or incorporated town 9 having a population of 500,000 or more inhabitants, there is 10 established a license appeal commission consisting of the 11 chairman of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, the most 12 senior member of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission who 13 is not of the same political party as the chairman,andone 14 person who is a resident of the particular city, village or 15 incorporated town selected by the council or president and 16 board of trustees, as the case may be, who shall serve for a 17 term of 4 years and until his or her successor is selected 18 and takes office, and 2 persons appointed by the mayor or 19 president of the board of trustees, as the case may be, who 20 shall each serve for a term of 4 years and until his or her 21 successor is selected and takes office. Neither the mayor, 22 president of the board of trustees, nor any member of the 23 council or board of trustees shall be eligible for membership 24 on a license appeal commission. Each of the 2 members of the 25 Illinois Liquor Control Commission shall receive a $100 per 26 diem for their work on the license appeal commission, and the 27 other member shall receive an annual salary which shall be 28 paid by the particular city, village or incorporated town. 29 The secretary of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission shall 30 be ex-officio the secretary for each license appeal 31 commission. -2- LRB9102080LDmb 1 (Source: P.A. 84-1282.) 2 Section 99.
