1 AN ACT to amend the Election Code by changing Section
2 23-1.1a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing
6 Section 23-1.1a as follows:
7 (10 ILCS 5/23-1.1a) (from Ch. 46, par. 23-1.1a)
8 Sec. 23-1.1a. Election contest; Statewide; Jurisdiction.
9 The Supreme Court shall have jurisdiction over contests of
10 the results of any election, including a primary, for an
11 elected officer provided for in Article V of the
12 Constitution, and shall retain jurisdiction throughout the
13 course of those such election contests.
