1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by adding
2 Section 11-61-1.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
6 adding Section 11-61-1.5 as follows:
7 (65 ILCS 5/11-61-1.5 new)
8 Sec. 11-61-1.5. Acquiring property by gift, legacy, or
9 grant. Every municipality has the power to acquire by gift,
10 legacy, or grant any real estate or personal property, or
11 rights therein, for purposes authorized under this Code as
12 its governing body may deem proper, whether the land or
13 personal property is located within or outside the municipal
14 boundaries. This Section applies to gifts, legacies, and
15 grants acquired before, on, or after the effective date of
16 this amendatory Act of the 91st General Assembly.
