1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Clean Indoor Air Act by
2 changing Section 4.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Clean Indoor Air Act is amended
6 by changing Section 4 as follows:
7 (410 ILCS 80/4) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 8204)
8 Sec. 4. Smoking in public places; exceptions. No person
9 shall smoke in a hospital, including entrances and exits, or
10 on the hospital grounds. No person shall smoke in any other
11 a public place except in that portion of a public place which
12 may be established and posted under Section 5 as a smoking
13 area. This prohibition does not apply in cases in which an
14 entire room or hall is used for a private social function and
15 seating arrangements are under the control of the sponsor of
16 the function and not of the proprietor or person in charge of
17 the place. Furthermore, this prohibition shall not apply to
18 factories, warehouses and similar places of work not usually
19 frequented by the general public.
