91_HB3595eng HB3595 Engrossed LRB9110905REsb 1 AN ACT concerning health care accessibility. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing 5 Section 5-25002 as follows: 6 (55 ILCS 5/5-25002) (from Ch. 34, par. 5-25002) 7 Sec. 5-25002. Classification of departments. County and 8 multiple county health departments established under this 9 Division may be classified by the Director of Public Health 10 in accordance with standards relating to programs, and 11 performance. The State Department of Public Health is 12 authorized to adoptpromulgaterulesand regulationssetting 13 forth minimum standards for programs and performance, 14 including regulations in which the State Department of Public 15 Health shall require provision of home visitation and other 16 services for pregnant women, new mothers and infants who are 17 at risk as defined by that Department that encompass but are 18 not limited to consultation for parental and child 19 development, comprehensive health education, nutritional 20 assessment, dental health, and periodic health screening, 21 referral and follow-up; the services shall be provided 22 through programs funded by grants from the Department of 23 Public Health from appropriations to the Department for that 24 purpose. The Department is further authorized to prescribe 25 minimum qualifications for the professional, technical, and 26 administrative staff. 27 (Source: P.A. 86-962; 86-1377; 87-395.)
