91_HB3631 LRB9110898MWgc 1 AN ACT concerning aging persons. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by 5 changing Section 2 as follows: 6 (20 ILCS 105/2) (from Ch. 23, par. 6102) 7 Sec. 2. Purposes of the Act. The ability of the 8 constantly increasing number of aged in the State to maintain 9 self-sufficiency and personal well-being with the dignity to 10 which their years of labor entitle them and to realize their 11 maximum potential as creative and productive individuals are 12 matters of profound import and concern for all of the people 13 of this State. 14 The purposes of this Act are to provide a comprehensive 15 and coordinated service system for the State's aging 16 population, giving high priority to those persons in greatest 17 need; to conduct studies and research into the needs and 18 problems of the aging; and to insure participation by the 19 aging in the planning and operation of all phases of the 20 system. 21 (Source: P.A. 78-242.)
