91_HB3647eng HB3647 Engrossed LRB9112584JMmb 1 AN ACT in relation to elections. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing 5 Section 7-10.2 as follows: 6 (10 ILCS 5/7-10.2) (from Ch. 46, par. 7-10.2) 7 Sec. 7-10.2. Names of candidates; petition or 8 certificate for nomination. In the designation of the name 9 of a candidate on a petition for nomination or certificate of 10 nomination the candidate's given name or names, initial or 11 initials, a nickname by which the candidate is commonly 12 known, or a combination thereof, may be used in addition to 13 the candidate's surname. No other designation such as a title 14 or degree, or nickname suggesting or implying possession of a 15 title, degree or professional status, similar information 16 may be used in connection with the candidate's surname, 17 except that the title "Mrs." may be used in the case of a 18 married woman. 19 (Source: P.A. 81-135.)
