1 AN ACT in relation to estates.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Probate Act of 1975 is amended by
5 changing Section 1-9 as follows:
6 (755 ILCS 5/1-9) (from Ch. 110 1/2, par. 1-9)
7 Sec. 1-9. Act to be liberally construed.) This Act and
8 the rules now or hereafter applicable to this Act thereto
9 shall be liberally construed to the end that controversies
10 and the rights of the parties may be speedily and finally
11 determined and the rule that statutes in derogation of the
12 common law shall be strictly construed does not apply.
