1 AN ACT to amend the Uniform Commercial Code.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Uniform Commercial Code is amended by
5 changing Section 1-103 as follows:
6 (810 ILCS 5/1-103) (from Ch. 26, par. 1-103)
7 Sec. 1-103. Supplementary general principles of law
8 applicable. Unless displaced by the particular provisions of
9 this Act, the principles of law and equity, including the law
10 merchant and the law relative to capacity to contract,
11 principal and agent, estoppel, fraud, misrepresentation,
12 duress, coercion, mistake, unjust enrichment, bankruptcy, or
13 other validating or invalidating cause shall supplement its
14 provisions.
