1 AN ACT to amend the Pawnbroker Regulation Act by changing
2 Section 11.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Pawnbroker Regulation Act is amended by
6 changing Section 11 as follows:
7 (205 ILCS 510/11) (from Ch. 17, par. 4661)
8 Sec. 11. Violations; penalties. Every person who
9 knowingly violates the provisions of this Act shall, for the
10 first offense, be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, and for
11 each subsequent offense shall be guilty of a Class A
12 misdemeanor, provided, that this Act shall not be construed
13 as to, in any wise, impair the power of cities or villages in
14 this State to license, tax, regulate except as to fee
15 amounts, suppress, and prohibit pawnbrokers as now provided
16 by law.
