1 AN ACT to amend the Day Labor Services Act by changing
2 Section 20.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Day Labor Services Act is amended by
6 changing Section 20 as follows:
7 (820 ILCS 175/20)
8 Sec. 20. Transportation. A day labor service agency or
9 a third party employer shall charge no more than the actual
10 cost to transport a day laborer to or from the designated
11 work site; however, the total cost to each day laborer shall
12 not exceed 3% of the day laborer's daily wages. Any motor
13 vehicle that is owned or operated by the day labor service
14 agency or a third party employer, or a contractor of either,
15 which is used for the transportation of day laborers shall
16 have proof of financial responsibility as provided for in
17 Chapter 8 of the Illinois Vehicle Code. A day labor service
18 agency or a third party employer that transports a day
19 laborer to or from a designated work site is liable for any
20 injury to a day laborer arising from any accident that occurs
21 while the day laborer is being transported to or from the
22 work site.
