91_HR0044 LRB9102584CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to recognize 3 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the 4 well-being of the citizens of this State; and 5 WHEREAS, William C. Curtin is such an individual, having 6 served on the Christian County Board for 26 years, the last 8 7 as Chairman; and 8 WHEREAS, He was born in Bear Creek Township in Christian 9 County on September 16, 1924, the son of Lawrence and Marie 10 Curtin; he was raised on a farm and graduated from Stonington 11 High School in 1942; and 12 WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Army in 1944 13 and served during and after World War II in the European 14 Theater; after being discharged, he started farming and 15 raising Angus beef cattle; and 16 WHEREAS, He married the former Margaret Unser from 17 Morrisonville on September 1, 1949 and raised 3 children, 18 Joe, Ellen, and Ben; and 19 WHEREAS, He served on the Stonington Township Board of 20 Trustees until moving to May Township, where he served on the 21 May Township Board of Trustees; and 22 WHEREAS, He is a past president of the Illinois Angus 23 Association, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the 24 Stonington American Legion, the Assumption V.F.W., and the 25 Christian County Historical Society; therefore, be it 26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 28 we congratulate William C. Curtin on his 26 years of 29 dedicated service to Christian County and wish him the best 30 of luck in the future; and be it further -2- LRB9102584CBcb 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to him as an expression of our esteem.
