91_HR0122 LRB9106208CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body were saddened to learn 3 of the death of the Reverend Doctor Eugene B. Green of 4 Decatur on Friday, February 26, 1999; and 5 WHEREAS, He was born in Chicago on August 8, 1925, the 6 son of Joseph B. and Willie Mae Lynsey Green; he was preceded 7 in death by his parents and a son, Stephen White; and 8 WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army, and he was 9 honorably discharged on August 10, 1957; and 10 WHEREAS, He had been pastor of several churches and 11 retired as pastor of Trinity Christian Methodist Episcopal 12 Church in Decatur; he served as an alternate delegate to the 13 General Conference and was in charge of the bookstore at the 14 Annual Conference; and 15 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family 16 and friends, especially his wife, Dorothy; his son, Edward 17 White; and his sister, Verdell Lightfoot; therefore, be it 18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 19 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 20 we note with sorrow and regret the death of Reverend Doctor 21 Eugene B. Green and extend our sincere condolences to his 22 family and friends; and be it further 23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 24 presented to his widow, Dorothy Green.
