1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mary Kathryn
6 McGrenera of Decatur is celebrating the 86th anniversary of
7 her birth; and
8 WHEREAS, Mary Kathryn Burgess was born March 8, 1913, in
9 Decatur, Illinois, to O. G. Burgess and Kathryn McGonnigle;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, She attended St. Patrick's School and Decatur
12 High School; she went to Chicago in 1932 to live with her
13 mother and brother; she obtained a civil service job with
14 Cook County and worked for 40 years, retiring December 31,
15 1974; and
16 WHEREAS, Mary Kathryn Burgess married Andrew P. McGrenera
17 in 1961; he had 2 sons, C. Richard and Donald; her husband
18 and C. Richard have died; and
19 WHEREAS, She bought a house together with her brother in
20 Decatur in 1975; and
21 WHEREAS, Mary Kathryn McGrenera is the proud grandmother
22 of 4 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren;
23 therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Mary Kathryn McGrenera on the occasion of her
27 86th birthday and extend to her our sincere best wishes for
28 the future; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to her as an expression of our respect and esteem.
