91_HR0147 LRB9106353KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the 3 Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of 4 Eagle Scout; and 5 WHEREAS, Benjamin Tucker of Decatur, Illinois, received 6 the Eagle Scout Award at a Court of Honor held on November 7 18, 1998; and 8 WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young 9 man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a 10 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in 11 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and 12 WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Benjamin joins an 13 elite and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among 14 its members an extraordinary number of this nation's great 15 leaders in business, government, education, and other sectors 16 of society; and 17 WHEREAS, Benjamin Tucker has earned the respect of his 18 peers and has been elected into the Order of the Arrow; 19 Benjamin currently serves as Assistant Scout Master; and 20 WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout 21 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud 22 family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be 23 it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 26 we join his family and friends in congratulating Benjamin 27 Tucker upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and 28 commend him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that 29 is the hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further 30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be -2- LRB9106353KBkb 1 presented to Eagle Scout Benjamin Tucker as an expression of 2 our respect and esteem.
