91_HR0158 LRB9106278EGfgA 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 3 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 4 there is hereby created a Task Force on Public and Private 5 Pension Portability, which shall consist of 17 members, as 6 follows: 7 (1) Eight members of the General Assembly, 2 each 8 appointed by the President of the Senate, the Senate 9 Minority Leader, the Speaker of the House, and the House 10 Minority Leader; 11 (2) Five public members appointed by the Governor, 12 one of whom shall be designated by the Governor to act as 13 chairperson of the Task Force; 14 (3) Two members appointed by the chairperson of the 15 Commission on the Status of Women; 16 (4) The Executive Director of the Pension Laws 17 Commission, or his or her designee; and 18 (5) A representative of the Public Pension Division 19 of the Department of Insurance, designated by the 20 Director of Insurance; and be it further 21 RESOLVED, That the members of the Task Force shall serve 22 without compensation; and be it further 23 RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall examine and consider 24 the advisability of changing the law governing the 25 portability of public and private employee pension benefits, 26 and the Task Force shall report its findings and 27 recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly by 28 March 1, 2000; and be it further 29 RESOLVED, That upon the submission of its report, the 30 Task Force is abolished; and be it further 31 RESOLVED, That the Pension Laws Commission and the 32 Public Pension Division of the Department of Insurance shall -2- LRB9106278EGfgA 1 provide any technical or clerical support that may be 2 required by the Task Force; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That the Illinois State Board of Investment 4 and all pension funds and retirement systems subject to the 5 Illinois Pension Code shall cooperate with the Task Force and 6 shall upon request provide the Task Force with any 7 information or assistance that it may find necessary or 8 useful for the performance of its duties; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution shall be 10 delivered to the Governor, the President and Minority Leader 11 of the Senate, the Executive Director of the Pension Laws 12 Commission, the Chairperson of the Commission on the Status 13 of Women, and the Director of Insurance.
