1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 the members of this body urge the Illinois congressional
5 delegation to support the restoration of the FFY 98 federal
6 funding level for the Social Service Block Grant/Title XX
7 Program; and be it further
8 RESOLVED, That the reduced FFY 99 funding level for this
9 important program will have an impact upon Illinois State
10 government of over $16,000,000, with a greater impact upon
11 direct service due to the program's local matching funds
12 commitment for the Donated Funds Initiative within Illinois'
13 expenditure of those allocated funds within every county of
14 the State; and be it further
15 RESOLVED, That the President's recommended budget for FFY
16 00 restores the FFY 98 funding level, and Congress should
17 favor this higher amount for FFY 00; and be it further
18 RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be presented to
19 the members of the Illinois delegation to the United States
20 Congress for their consideration.
