91_HR0208 LRB9106537KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, THe highest award the National Council of the 3 Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of 4 Eagle Scout; and 5 WHEREAS, Edward A. Distel will receive the Eagle Scout 6 Award at a Court of Honor to be held on May 23, 1999 at 2:00 7 p.m. in Oak Lawn; and 8 WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young 9 man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a 10 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in 11 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and 12 WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Edward A. Distel 13 joins an elite and honorable fraternity of achievers that 14 counts among its members an extraordinary number of this 15 nation's great leaders in business, government, education, 16 and other sectors of society; and 17 WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout 18 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud 19 family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be 20 it 21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 22 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 23 we join his family and friends in congratulating Edward A. 24 Distel upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and 25 commend him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that 26 is the hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further 27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 28 presented to Eagle Scout Edward A. Distel as an expression of 29 our respect and esteem.
