1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Greater Rockwell Organization was
3 established on May 25, 1979; and
4 WHEREAS, In doing so, it brought together the members of
5 the community to take an active role in the growth and
6 direction of the Ravenswood Neighborhood; and
7 WHEREAS, The Greater Rockwell Organization boasts of over
8 two hundred community members today consisting of tenants,
9 homeowners, landlords, and business owners; and
10 WHEREAS, In working with our political and community
11 leaders, the Greater Rockwell Organization has helped to
12 revitalize the community we live in, making it a safer and
13 more prosperous neighborhood for the City of Chicago and the
14 State of Illinois; and
15 WHEREAS, In recognition of this anniversary, the Greater
16 Rockwell Organization will bring together all the members of
17 the community in a Neighborhood Block Party on Saturday, June
18 19, 1999; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we declare June 19, 1999 to be Greater Rockwell Organization
22 Day in the State of Illinois; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to the Greater Rockwell Organization.
