1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Hope Children's Hospital exists to positively
3 affect the current and future health conditions of our
4 community; and
5 WHEREAS, The philosophy of Hope Children's Hospital is
6 grounded in the principles of human ecology, faith, and
7 community-based health care; and
8 WHEREAS, We believe in promoting good health and safety
9 for children by developing new community partnerships and
10 resources to achieve this goal; and
11 WHEREAS, A healthy childhood and promising adulthood are
12 predicated on deeply rooted positive lifestyles learned
13 through interactive education; and
14 WHEREAS, The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation
15 was established in 1982 to assist the college in meeting the
16 ever-expanding needs of the southwest suburbs; and
17 WHEREAS, The purposes for which the Moraine Valley
18 Community College Foundation was organized are exclusively
19 for the benefit and promotion of the charitable, scholastic,
20 education, literacy, athletic, benevolent, civic, research,
21 and scientific functions of the College; and
22 WHEREAS, The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation
23 Board of Directors is comprised of 31 members and, along with
24 its staff, is dedicated to the educational and cultural
25 betterment of the community; and
26 WHEREAS, The Moraine Valley Community College Foundation
27 recognizes that introducing children to the educational and
28 cultural opportunities available at the College will help
29 them develop into productive and well-rounded members of the
30 community; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we encourage the citizens of the State of Illinois to share
4 time and talent with children in an effort to guarantee a
5 healthy, happy future and declare the last Saturday of
6 September 1999, "Children's Culture & Health Day."
