91_HR0375 LRB9107000KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives 4 of citizens of the State of Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, The 1999 Governor's Awards for Unique 6 Achievements were announced with the name of Walter K. "Hap" 7 Holliday of Ramsey, Illinois on the list; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Holliday represented the Midland Area Agency 9 on Aging in Centralia; he was the superintendent of Ramsey 10 Unit #204 schools for 25 years and currently serves on the 11 Regional School Board of Trustees in Bond, Fayette, and 12 Effingham counties; and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Holliday's community service includes 14 serving as a member of the Midland Area Agency Board of 15 Directors since 1980; in addition he has chaired numerous 16 fundraising golf tournaments for schools and other charities; 17 and 18 WHEREAS, "Hap" Holliday played AAA baseball for the 19 Cleveland Indians after his time of service during World War 20 II; he also played for the Cardinals for a brief time; Mr. 21 Holliday and his wife, Kathleen, are the parents of three 22 children, the grandparents of 11, and have 2 23 great-grandchildren; Mr. Holliday is an avid golfer in his 24 spare time; and 25 WHEREAS, Mr. Holliday and other winners were honored at 26 the Governor's Mansion on May 19, 1999; therefore, be it 27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 28 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 29 we congratulate Walter "Hap" Holliday on winning a Governor's 30 Award for Unique Achievement; and be it further -2- LRB9107000KBkb 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to Walter "Hap" Holliday.
