91_HR0427 LRB9108857CBcb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the 3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage 4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for 5 the people of the State of Illinois; and 6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs. 7 Richard E. Hogan of Buckingham will celebrate the fiftieth 8 anniversary of their marriage; and 9 WHEREAS, Richard and Joanne Hogan were united in holy 10 matrimony on November 26, 1949 at St. Mary's Church in Royal 11 Oak, Michigan; and 12 WHEREAS, Richard is a World War II Army veteran and a 13 recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, and he is a 14 graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign; Joanne 15 is a registered nurse and graduated from Mercy College in 16 Detroit, Michigan; and 17 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Sean, Anne, 18 Kathleen, Mary, and the late Patrick and the proud 19 grandparents of Keli and Kara Hogan, John and Meara Keegan, 20 Miles Bribriesco, and Alexa Hogan-Makuch; and 21 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its 22 highest plateaus when a couple such as Richard and Joanne 23 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and 24 WHEREAS, Richard and Joanne stand as examples of the best 25 of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and 26 to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that 27 hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in 28 today's world; therefore, be it 29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 30 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that -2- LRB9108857CBcb 1 we congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Hogan on the occasion 2 of their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them 3 for achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with 4 children and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that 5 we wish them happiness and good health in the future; and be 6 it further 7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 8 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
