1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this House are pleased and
3 honored to recognize significant milestones in the lives of
4 individuals of this great State; and
5 WHEREAS, Bonita Ramsey-Pryor will celebrate her fiftieth
6 birthday this year; and
7 WHEREAS, She was born in Chicago on November 16, 1949; a
8 native of Altgeld Gardens Homes, she graduated from George
9 Washington Carver High School; and
10 WHEREAS, She joined Up With People in 1968 and toured
11 with them for two years; she married her childhood sweetheart
12 in 1969 and to this union was born a loving, intelligent
13 daughter; and
14 WHEREAS, Bonita was a member of the top Black drum and
15 bugle corps and studied dancing with some of the best
16 instructors in Chicago; she was also a professional model;
17 and
18 WHEREAS, She served the community as a dental assistant
19 with Drs. Russell Dixon and Edward Schaaf; she works in the
20 community presently doing home health; her formal education
21 is with Olive Harvey College and Malcolm X College of
22 Chicago; and
23 WHEREAS, She is an active member of the Order of Eastern
24 Star, Daughter of the Sphinx of Northern South America, a
25 Women's Auxiliary George L. Giles #87 American Legion Post of
26 Chicago, and a seventeen year member of the Concord
27 Missionary Baptist Church; and
28 WHEREAS, She will be honored with a dinner on Saturday,
29 November 20, 1999; therefore, be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we take this opportunity to wish Bonita Ramsey-Pryor a happy
3 fiftieth birthday with the hope of many more to come; and be
4 it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to Bonita Ramsey-Pryor as a token of our esteem.
