1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this Body that
3 Judy Mann has announced her retirement as Director of the
4 Iron Oaks Environmental Learning Center in Olympia Fields
5 after twenty years of service to the park; and
6 WHEREAS, A longstanding goal of Judy Mann, to build a new
7 headquarters and classroom building at the park, will finally
8 be started right after she leaves; and
9 WHEREAS, In the two decades she has been with Iron Oaks,
10 she has witnessed the park's use grow from 3,000 people who
11 participated in its programs each year to more than 25,000
12 people; and
13 WHEREAS, She is a member of the IPRA, the Environmental
14 Education Association of Illinois, the National Recreation
15 and Park Association, the North American Association for
16 Environmental Education, and the South Suburban Park and
17 Recreation Professional Association; and
18 WHEREAS, She received the Take Pride in America Award in
19 1987 and the LAWCON Take Pride in America Award in 1990; she
20 was named to the Who's Who in American Education in 1992; and
21 WHEREAS, In her years with the park, Judy Mann has earned
22 the respect and admiration of all who have come to know her;
23 therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Judy Mann as she retires as Director of Iron
27 Oaks Environmental Learning Center and thank her for the
28 service she has given over the years; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to Judy Mann as a token of our esteem.
