1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the members of
3 this Body welcome the opportunity to recognize citizens of
4 this State who make outstanding contributions to society; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Jim Marcacci
6 is the recipient of the Benld Rotary Club's Outstanding
7 Community Service Award in the Year of 1999, for "Service
8 Above Self" in his role of teacher and mentor to the students
9 of the Unit 7 School District of Gillespie; and
10 WHEREAS, Jim Marcacci was born and raised in Sawyerville,
11 the son of Henry and Lucille Marcacci; he attended Benld
12 Grade School and Gillespie High School and graduated from
13 Eastern Illinois University; and
14 WHEREAS, He began teaching in 1968 at Benld, then moved
15 on to Gillespie High School; his early teaching included
16 typing, stenotype, and clerical record keeping; and
17 WHEREAS, He currently is the Technology Coordinator for
18 WGHS-TV and teaches accounting; and
19 WHEREAS, He resides in Gillespie with his wife, Denise;
20 together they have six children and three grandchildren; and
21 WHEREAS, Jim Marcacci has earned the respect and
22 admiration of all who know him; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we join the citizens of Benld and Gillespie in honoring Jim
26 Marcacci and congratulate him on winning the Benld Rotary
27 Club's Outstanding Community Service Award in the Year 1999;
28 and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to Jim Marcacci as a token of our esteem.
