1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Le'Phaye Gray
3 Washington is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of her
4 birth; and
5 WHEREAS, She was educated at Hyde Park High School, and
6 received her Master's Degree at Chicago State University; and
7 WHEREAS, She was an elementary educator for the Chicago
8 Board of Education and is currently a Communications and
9 Marketing Specialist for Prentice Hall Publishers; and
10 WHEREAS, A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, she is
11 an outstanding community servant; she chairs many events at
12 her church, St. Margaret of Scotland, and its Women's Club in
13 which she is vice-president; she is Co-Founder and Executive
14 Director of Nex Level Productions and garners scholarships to
15 benefit African American male high school students; and
16 WHEREAS, In recognition of the fiftieth anniversary of
17 her birth, a surprise party is being held on December 18,
18 1999 at DeJoie's Bistro in Chicago; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we congratulate Le'Phaye Gray Washington on the occasion of
22 her fiftieth birthday and take this opportunity to extend our
23 very best wishes to her for the years to come; and be it
24 further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to her as an expression of our esteem.
