91_HR0557 LRB9108400MWpc 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Voting via the Internet would increase voter 3 participation and further the democratic process; and 4 WHEREAS, By 2000, 50% of all Americans will be using the 5 Internet daily; and 6 WHEREAS, A recent study showed that 66% of all Americans 7 would like to vote on the Internet; therefore, be it 8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY- 9 FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge 10 the State Board of Elections to establish a task force, under 11 the direction of the Board, to study the use of Internet 12 voting in Illinois; and be it further 13 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 14 delivered to the chairman and the executive director of the 15 State Board of Elections.
