91_HR0560 LRB9113027KBkb 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to extend their sincere condolences to 4 the family and friends of Lois Thomas, who recently passed 5 from this life; and 6 WHEREAS, Lois Thomas, affectionately known as "Lo-Lo", 7 was born on July 11, 1979; her parents were the late Sammie 8 Thomas and Lois (Robertson) Thomas; she was the only girl in 9 a house with four brothers, Marlon, Lonnie, Deon, and Dontay; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, Lois Thomas attended St. Justin Elementary 12 School and Dirksen Junior High; she attended Maria High 13 School and graduated from Thornwood High School; Lois Thomas 14 always maintained a position on the honor roll while in 15 school; she went on to attend Northern Illinois University 16 and South Suburban College; she also took additional classes 17 in Child Care and Nursing; and 18 WHEREAS, Lois Thomas enjoyed basketball and swimming; she 19 played basketball on the girl's team while attending 20 Thornwood High School; she was class leader, respected and 21 loved by her friends and classmates; and 22 WHEREAS, Lois Thomas accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior 23 when she was young and was baptized at Faith Revival Center 24 Church under the leadership of Reverend Wyatt McCray; she 25 sang in the choir at church and served as a Junior Usher; she 26 will be remembered for her kind and compassionate manner; and 27 WHEREAS, Lois Thomas will be remembered for her smile, 28 her sense of humor, and her uplifting ways; and 29 WHEREAS, Lois Thomas was employed at the Child Life Day 30 Care, where she worked by displaying her love for children; 31 and -2- LRB9113027KBkb 1 WHEREAS, Lois Thomas is survived by her mother, Lois 2 Thomas; her brothers, Marlon and his wife, Debbie, Lonnie, 3 Deon, and Dontay; her aunts, Beatrice (O'Neal) Grady, Maxine 4 Robertson, Geneva (Marshall) Walker, Myrtle Allen, Monyette 5 Earsery, and Ophaline (James) Miller; her uncles, Willie 6 Earsery, Jr., and Charles Thomas; her nieces, Dikera, Phayla, 7 LaQuita, Marlena, Andrea, and Dee-Dee; her nephews, Marco, 8 Adam, Marlon, Jr., and Dontay, Jr.; and her many cousins, 9 other relatives, and many friends; therefore, be it 10 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 11 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 12 we mourn, along with all that knew this young and loving 13 woman, the death of Lois Thomas; may there be peace and 14 comfort in this time of loss; and be it further 15 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 16 presented to the family of Lois Thomas.
