1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the members of
3 the Illinois House of Representatives welcome the opportunity
4 to recognize citizens of this State who make outstanding
5 contributions to their community; and
6 WHEREAS, Colleen Sullivan is one such person; she retired
7 October 29, 1999 after thirty-three years of processing
8 circuit court jurors at the Peoria County Courthouse; and
9 WHEREAS, Colleen Mary Kelleher Sullivan was born on June
10 13, 1924; she is the loving mother of ten children, Mike,
11 Margaret, Mary, Pat, Susie, Tracy, Becky, Colleen, Dodie, and
12 Maureen, and the proud grandmother of twenty-two
13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and
14 WHEREAS, Since 1966, Colleen Sullivan has dealt with more
15 than 500,000 jurors during her service with the Jury
16 Commission; her personality and calm manner have earned her
17 the respect and admiration of all; and
18 WHEREAS, After retirement, she is planning on taking a
19 trip to Ireland, traveling, getting reunited with her
20 brothers and sisters, and spending time with her family; and
21 WHEREAS, Her dedicated service will be long remembered by
22 the residents of Peoria County; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we join with the Peoria community in wishing Colleen Sullivan
26 the best of luck in her retirement and thank her for the many
27 years she has given to the Circuit Court; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Colleen Sullivan with our appreciation and
30 esteem.
