1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Child abuse prevention is a community problem,
3 and finding solutions depends on involvement among people
4 throughout the community, including the courts; and
5 WHEREAS, Parents Care & Share support groups have
6 contributed to the decline in statistics of children who are
7 neglected each year; and
8 WHEREAS, The effect of child abuse remains an issue of
9 great importance to all communities and needs to be addressed
10 by all Illinoisians; and
11 WHEREAS, Effective child abuse presentation programs
12 succeed because of partnerships created among the courts,
13 social service agencies, schools, religious organizations,
14 law enforcement agencies, and business communities; and
15 WHEREAS, Parents Care & Share, a prevention program
16 offering positive alternatives to help break the cycle of
17 abuse, is sponsoring the Illinois Blue Bow Campaign to
18 heighten awareness of the need to support families; and
19 prevention within the community and become involved in
20 supporting parents to raise their children in a safe,
21 nurturing environment; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we recognize and designate the third week of April as Blue
25 Bow Week and the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention
26 Month and call upon all citizens to increase their
27 participation in efforts to prevent child abuse, thereby
28 strengthening the communities in which we live; and be it
29 further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Parents Care & Share, a service of Children's
