1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this House are pleased and
3 honored to recognize significant achievements in the lives of
4 individuals of this great State; and
5 WHEREAS, Gene Sharp of Oakley has announced his
6 retirement after nearly thirty-nine years with the A. E.
7 Staley Company in Decatur; he co-sponsored the Employee
8 Family System Program for A. E. Staley; and on five occasions
9 was sent to Washington, D.C., to represent organized labor
10 and corporate management at Congressional Hearings concerning
11 Government Affairs in Litigation; and
12 WHEREAS, He received an honorable discharge from the
13 United States Army as a Staff Sergeant, and he attended
14 Richland Community College of Decatur; and
15 WHEREAS, Gene Sharp was a member and Past Commander of
16 the American Legion in Cerro Gordo; and
17 WHEREAS, Gene Sharp has been married to his wife, Karen,
18 for thirty-five years; they are the loving parents of three
19 children and the proud grandparents of three grandchildren;
20 therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 we congratulate Gene Sharp as he retires from A. E. Staley
24 Company and extend to him our best wishes for the future; and
25 be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Gene Sharp.
