1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Diana Smith
6 McClintock of Elmhurst is celebrating the 40th anniversary of
7 her birth; and
8 WHEREAS, Diana Smith McClintock was born April 8, 1960,
9 in DeKalb, Illinois, to Wilbur Smith and Dorothy Smith; she
10 has two brothers, Bob Smith and Kevin Smith, and one sister,
11 Deborah Smith-Callahan; and
12 WHEREAS, She attended University Laboratory School; she
13 graduated from DeKalb Senior High School in 1978; she
14 graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1982 with a
15 Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Science; she
16 received her teaching certificate and Master's degree in
17 Education Administration from the College of DuPage; and
18 WHEREAS, She worked as a page and served on staff for the
19 Illinois House of Representatives, she served an internship
20 with the State Board of Education, she served as the
21 Legislative director of the Illinois Nurses Association, and
22 was a frequent patron of Bauer's Opera House; and
23 WHEREAS, In Peru, Illinois, Diana Smith McClintock worked
24 for the Attorney General's office and taught American history
25 and social studies at LaSalle-Peru High School; she taught
26 government and history at Carl Sandburg Middle School in
27 Elmhurst and is currently the Assistant Principal at York
28 High School in Elmhurst, where she played a role in the
29 recent passage of a high school referendum; and
30 WHEREAS, Diana Smith McClintock is the proud mother of
31 three children, Ryan, Andrew, and Max; she is a member of the

1 First United Methodist Church in Elmhurst, Illinois; and she
2 is a talented flautist; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5 we congratulate Diana Smith McClintock on the occasion of
6 her birthday and extend to Diana Smith McClintock our sincere
7 best wishes for the future; and be it further
8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to Diana Smith McClintock as an expression of our
10 respect and esteem.
