1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the House of
3 Representatives that Hanover Township is celebrating the
4 150th anniversary of its inception; and
5 WHEREAS, Hanover Township was officially established on
6 Tuesday, April 2, 1850 to provide a government closer to home
7 than the County Seat in Chicago; and
8 WHEREAS, The territory of Hanover Township includes most
9 of Streamwood, portions of Bartlett, Elgin, Hanover Park,
10 Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, and unincorporated Cook County;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, From the 1850s to the year 2000, the services
13 offered by the Township would not be possible if it were not
14 for the dedicated employees and volunteers in the Township
15 family; and
16 WHEREAS, Throughout the past 150 years, Hanover Township
17 has seen many changes and through the dedication and
18 commitment of its residents has experienced much growth and
19 modernization and remains a constant source of pride to its
20 citizens; and
21 WHEREAS, Hanover Township is facing the twenty-first
22 century with dreams of blending future growth with the
23 preservation of the past; the residents are proud of its
24 history and its contributions to the culture of the State of
25 Illinois; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Hanover Township on its 150th anniversary and
29 extend our sincere wishes for future success and growth; and
30 be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Michael E. Kelly, Supervisor of Hanover
3 Township.
