1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences
4 upon hearing of the death of James "Jim" Price of Mount Zion,
5 Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, James Price was born on August 23, 1952 in
7 Elmhurst, Illinois; he received his Bachelor of Science
8 degree in education, Master of Science degree in education,
9 and specialist in education from Eastern Illinois University,
10 and his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University; and
11 WHEREAS, James Price was the associate superintendent of
12 the Mount Zion School District; he was a member of the Mount
13 Zion Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder in the
14 church; he was the former Mayor of Mount Zion, where he
15 served two four-year terms; and
16 WHEREAS, Mr. Price served as president of the Mount Zion
17 Park Foundation for six years and president of the Board of
18 Directors for eight years; he was chairman of the board of
19 the Mount Zion Infant and Child Care Board of Directors for
20 two years; he was a board member of the Macon County Regional
21 Planning Commission for six years; and he was the former
22 president of the Mount Zion Lions Club for three years;
23 WHEREAS, James Price was a member of the Future Business
24 Leaders of America (FBLA), a member Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) and
25 the Board of Directors, where he formerly served as chairman;
26 he was a past chair of the Illinois Coordinating Council for
27 Vocational Student Organizations Board of Directors; he was a
28 member of Phi Delta Kappa, Education Honorary Society; he was
29 a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon, Mathematics Honorary Society;
30 he was a member of the National Business Education
31 Association; he served on the State Board of Directors of the
32 Illinois Business Education Association for twelve years; he

1 was State representative of the Region III Policy Committee
2 for the American Vocational Association and was a past State
3 president and member of the Board of Directors of the
4 Illinois Vocational Association; and
5 WHEREAS, James Price served on the Board of Directors and
6 was an officer for the Illinois Coalition for Quality
7 Vocational Education; he was a member of the Illinois
8 Association of School Business Officials; he was an honorary
9 life member of the National Parent Teacher Association; he
10 was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity, Eastern Illinois
11 University Chapter, where he held many offices, including
12 national president and chapter adviser; he was also an active
13 member of the Republican party; and
14 WHEREAS, The passing of James Price will be felt by all
15 who knew him, especially his parents, Roy and Helen Price;
16 his brothers, Mickey (Jan) and Randy (Cheryl); his nephew,
17 Andrew; his nieces, Lauren, Ha Maria, and Theu Emily; and
18 many aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we mourn, along with all who knew and loved him, the passing
22 of James Price of Mount Zion, Illinois; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to the family of James Price.
