91_HR0889 LRB9114971RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the House wish to express their 3 sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Paulette 4 Kidd who passed away on October 4, 2000; and 5 WHEREAS, Dr. Paulette Kidd was born on March 24, 1951 in 6 Chicago, Illinois to the union of Charles and Ruth Webb; and 7 WHEREAS, Dr. Paulette Kidd spent her formative years 8 growing up in the Englewood community, where she was baptized 9 in 1968 at Bethel Lutheran Church; attended William D. Beale 10 Elementary School and Englewood High School, from which she 11 graduated with honors in 1968; she earned a Bachelor of Arts 12 Degree from Chicago State University, and a master's degree 13 in 1980 and she successfully completed her Doctoral Degree in 14 education from Illinois State University in 1996; and 15 WHEREAS, Dr. Paulette Kidd served the Chicago Public 16 Schools faithfully for 26 years; she committed the remaining 17 years of her life dedicated to "rejuvenating" the "Englewood 18 Spirit" as an Assistant Principal at Englewood Technical 19 Preparatory Academy; in recognition of her dedication and 20 hard work, Dr. Kidd was inducted into the Englewood Wall of 21 Fame in 1998; and 22 WHEREAS, The passing of Dr. Paulette Kidd will be deeply 23 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her loving 24 fiance, Alvin; her children, Maylon, Neidre, and Jasmine; her 25 five loving grandchildren, Maylon IV, Alexis, Mayshawn, 26 Aquasia, and Diamond; her loving mother, Ruth Webb; her three 27 brothers, Ronald Webb, Phillip Webb, and Carlos Webb; her 28 sisters, Rosalyn Turner, Penelope Beasley, and Patricia 29 Harper; her sisters-in-law, Sandra Webb and Barbara Webb; her 30 brothers-in-law, Arthur Turner, Darryl Beasley, and Brad 31 Harper; and her extended family; and -2- LRB9114971RHrh 1 WHEREAS, Dr. Paulette Kidd will also be missed by her 2 dear friends, colleagues and students who will miss her 3 dearly and externally hold her in their loving thoughts; 4 therefore, be it 5 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 6 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 7 we mourn, along with all who knew her, the death of Dr. 8 Paulette Kidd of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 10 presented to the family of Dr. Paulette Kidd.
