1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor citizens from the State
4 of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Michael F. Cahill courageously and fearlessly
6 served his country in Vietnam, where he received several
7 honors, including the Vietnam Service Medal and the Purple
8 Heart for his acts of valor and heroism in the line of duty;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, Upon completion of his tour of duty Michael F.
11 Cahill continued his devotion to his country by joining the
12 United States Army Reserves where he served for almost three
13 decades; during his time in the United States Army Reserves
14 he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and received
15 numerous commendations; and
16 WHEREAS, Michael F. Cahill has for the past twenty-seven
17 years served with great distinction as a Cook County
18 Assistant State's Attorney, seeking justice for victims and
19 their families while setting an example of honor, courage,
20 and integrity for every prosecutor; and
21 WHEREAS, Michael F. Cahill best exemplifies what this
22 nation was built upon, an undying commitment to God, family,
23 and country; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we recognize Michael F. Cahill for his lifelong dedication to
27 serving the citizens of the State of Illinois and the United
28 States; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to Michael F. Cahill as an expression of our
31 esteem.
