1 AN ACT relating to the regulation of laser devices.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by
5 adding Section 2-10.2, the added section to read as follows:
6 (720 ILCS 5/2-10.2 new)
7 Sec. 2-10.2. Laser or laser device. "Laser" or "laser
8 device" means any small or hand held battery powered device
9 which converts incident electromagnetic radiation of mixed
10 frequencies to one or more discrete frequencies of highly
11 amplified and coherent visible radiation or light.
12 Flashlights and similar lamps, lanterns, lights and penlights
13 are not laser devices.
