Amend Senate Bill 563 by replacing 3 the title with the following: 4 "AN ACT to amend the Hospital Licensing Act."; and 5 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 6 following: 7 "Section 5. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by 8 adding Section 4.6 as follows: 9 (210 ILCS 85/4.6 new) 10 Sec. 4.6. Additional licensing requirements. 11 (a) Notwithstanding any other law or rule to the 12 contrary, the Department shall license as a hospital a 13 building that (i) is owned or operated by a hospital licensed 14 under this Act, (ii) is located in a municipality with a 15 population of less than 60,000, and (iii) includes a 16 postsurgical recovery care center licensed under the 17 Alternative Health Care Delivery Act for a period of not 18 less than 2 years, an ambulatory surgical treatment center 19 licensed under the Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center Act, 20 and a Freestanding Emergency Center licensed under the 21 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act. Only the -2- LRB9105750ACmgam01 1 components of the building which are currently licensed shall 2 be eligible under the provisions of this Section. 3 (b) Prior to issuing a license, the Department shall 4 inspect the facility and require the facility to meet such 5 of the Department's rules relating to the establishment of 6 hospitals as the Department determines are appropriate to 7 such facility. Once the Department approves the facility and 8 issues a hospital license, all other licenses as listed in 9 subsection (a) above shall be null and void. 10 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 11 becoming law.".
