1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Public Aid Code by adding
2 Section 4-1.13.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
6 adding Section 4-1.13 as follows:
7 (305 ILCS 5/4-1.13 new)
8 Sec. 4-1.13. School activities; responsibility contract.
9 If a family unit includes a child who is enrolled in
10 kindergarten or any of grades 1 through 12, the family unit
11 is not eligible to receive assistance under this Article
12 unless the parent or other custodian signs a responsibility
13 contract with the Illinois Department, pursuant to which the
14 parent or other custodian agrees to participate in the
15 child's school activities. The Illinois Department must
16 adopt rules that specify the types of school activities in
17 which parents or other custodians must participate and that
18 prescribe the form of the responsibility contract.
19 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20 becoming law.
