1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 807
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 807 on page 18,
3 line 10, immediately after "Act.", by inserting the
4 following:
5 "Whenever the State Board, pursuant to the Open Meetings Act,
6 closes any meeting, or portion of any meeting, it shall
7 arrange for all discussions, deliberations, and meetings so
8 closed to be transcribed verbatim by a stenographer,
9 certified court reporter, or similar means. The State Board
10 must review and approve the transcripts within 30 days after
11 the date of the closed meeting, and when, in its judgment,
12 the exception of the Open Meetings Act relied upon for
13 authorizing the closing of the meeting, as recorded pursuant
14 to Section 2a of the Open Meetings Act, is no longer
15 applicable, the transcripts must be made available to the
16 public. Any party to a State Board proceeding must be given
17 access to the transcript of any closed meeting pertaining to
18 that proceeding before the expiration of the time within
19 which his or her application for rehearing must be field,
20 upon the signing of an appropriate protective agreement.".
