1 AN ACT to amend the Medical Practice Act of 1987 by
2 adding Section 53.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended
6 by adding Section 53.5 as follows:
7 (225 ILCS 60/53.5 new)
8 Sec. 53.5. Prohibition of restrictive covenants. No
9 physician licensed under this Act shall participate in
10 offering or making any agreement that restricts the rights of
11 a physician to practice medicine or chiropractic after
12 termination of any relationship, except an agreement
13 concerning benefits upon retirement.
