91_SB1119 SDS/910012/JDdo 1 AN ACT to amend the Attorneys Act by changing Section 6. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Attorneys Act is amended by changing Section 5 6 as follows: 6 (705 ILCS 205/6) (from Ch. 13, par. 6) 7 Sec. 6. No person, whose name is not on thesuchroll, 8 with the day and year when the same was written thereon, 9 shall be suffered or admitted to practice as an attorney or 10 counselor at law in any court within this State, and the 11 justices of the supreme court, in open court, shall have 12 power at their discretion to strike the name of any attorney 13 or counsel at law from the roll for malconduct in his office; 14 and any judge of a Circuit Court shall, for like cause, have 15 power to suspend any attorney or counselor at law from 16 practice in the court over which he presides, during such 17 time as he may deem proper, subject to the right of appeal as 18 in other civil cases. 19 (Source: Laws 1967, p. 3675.)
