1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Public Aid Code by adding
2 Section 4-23.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section. 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
6 adding Section 4-23 as follows:
7 (305 ILCS 5/4-23 new)
8 Sec. 4-23. Transitional transportation assistance.
9 Subject to appropriations, the Department shall provide up to
10 12 months of transitional transportation assistance to former
11 recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families if the
12 former recipients are no longer eligible for assistance due
13 to an increase in earned income in the household. This
14 Section shall not be construed to create an entitlement to
15 transitional transportation assistance.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act shall take effect
17 January 1, 2001.
