1 AN ACT making appropriations to Northern Illinois
2 University.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The sum of $94,701,500, or so much thereof as
6 may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue
7 Fund to the Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University
8 to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of the
9 University, including payment or reimbursement to the
10 University for personal services and related costs, incurred
11 during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001.
12 Section 10. The sum of $16,584,600, or so much thereof as
13 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Education
14 Assistance Fund to the Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois
15 University to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of
16 the University, including payment or reimbursement to the
17 University for personal services and related costs, incurred
18 during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001.
19 Section 15. The sum of $649,900, or so much thereof as
20 may be necessary and remains unexpended at the close of
21 business on June 30, 2000, from a reappropriation heretofore
22 made for that purpose in Article 1, Section 150 of Public Act
23 91-0008, is reappropriated from the Capital Development Fund
24 to the Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University for
25 technology infrastructure improvements at Northern Illinois
26 University. No contract shall be entered into or obligation
27 incurred for any expenditures from the appropriation made in
28 this Section until after the purposes and amounts have been
29 approved in writing by the Governor.

1 Section 20. The sum of $427,300, or so much thereof as
2 may be necessary and remains unexpended at the close of
3 business on June 30, 2000, from a reappropriation heretofore
4 made for that purpose in Article 8, Section 15 of the Public
5 Act 91-0008, is reappropriated from the General Revenue Fund
6 to the Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University for
7 a grant to the Equity Services Center.
8 Section 25. The sum of $388,321, or so much thereof as
9 may be necessary and remains unexpended at the close of
10 business on June 30, 2000, from a reappropriation heretofore
11 made for that purpose in Article 8, Section 20 of Public Act
12 91-0008, is reappropriated from the Capital Development Fund
13 to the Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University for
14 purchasing Engineering Building equipment.
15 Section 30. The sum $90,000, or so much thereof as may be
16 necessary and remains unexpended at the close of business on
17 June 30, 2000, from an appropriation heretofore made for that
18 purpose in Article 8, Section 25 of Public Act 91-0008, is
19 reappropriated from the Fund for Illinois' Future to the
20 Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University for a grant
21 to the Division of Public Administration to provide technical
22 assistance to units of local government.
23 Section 35. The sum of $29,150, or so much thereof as may
24 be necessary, is appropriated from the State College and
25 University Trust Fund to the Board of Trustees of Northern
26 Illinois University for scholarship grant awards, in
27 accordance with Public Act 91-0083.
28 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
29 1, 2000.
