1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Warren "Barney" Barnes of Palos
4 Township, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Barnes was born in Chicago and grew up in
6 the neighborhood east of Western Avenue near 111th Street; he
7 worked as a data processor for Johnson and Johnson until his
8 retirement; Mr. Barnes was a gentleman; and
9 WHEREAS, After his retirement, Mr. Barnes began driving
10 with his wife, former State Representative Jane Barnes, as
11 she traveled back and forth to Springfield; Mrs. Barnes was a
12 State Representative for 18 years; and
13 WHEREAS, Warren "Barney" Barnes is survived by his wife,
14 Jane; his sons, Bruce, Samuel, Scott, and Jeffrey; his seven
15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and his sisters,
16 Peggy Yonker and Betty Engler; he was preceded in death by
17 his daughter, Denise; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
19 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
20 his family and friends, the death of Warren "Barney" Barnes
21 of Palos Township; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to the family of Warren Barnes.
