1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Illinois Senate wishes to acknowledge the
3 accomplishments and life of Joseph J. McCarthy of Orland
4 Park, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Joseph McCarthy was born and raised in Chicago;
6 he earned his Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, and a
7 Doctorate in Education from Loyola University; and
8 WHEREAS, Joseph McCarthy was a teacher at several Chicago
9 school and served as a principal at a junior high; he served
10 as Worth Township supervisor and held that position until
11 1988; he resumed teaching in the 1990's as a part-time
12 instructor at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, College of
13 DuPage in Wheaton, and Loyola University in Chicago, where he
14 taught classes in psychology and education; Joseph McCarthy
15 also opened McCarthy & Associates, a marriage and family
16 therapy practice in Orland Park; and
17 WHEREAS, The passing of Joseph McCarthy will be deeply
18 felt by all who knew him, especially his loving wife, Elsie;
19 his sons, Joseph, Edward, Daniel, and Matthew; his sister,
20 Loretta Kemmer; his brother, Edward; and his three
21 grandchildren; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our
24 condolences to the family and friends of Joseph J. McCarthy;
25 and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Elsie McCarthy.
