91_SR0351 LRB9113858KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of 4 Justin Fortuna, who recently passed away; and 5 WHEREAS, Justin Fortuna served in the United States Army 6 in the 1950s; he opened Justin's Men's Wear in Chicago in 7 1958, which he owned and operated for three years; he later 8 sold aluminum siding; in 1976 he opened Jay's Drive-In in 9 Harwood Heights, and eventually opened two additional 10 restaurants in Schiller Park and Mt. Prospect; he retired 11 from the business in the 1990s; and 12 WHEREAS, He had a love of sports, with a passion for 13 baseball and softball; he played on the Bobcats softball 14 team, and played basketball for DePaul University; he also 15 officiated at basketball and baseball games for public and 16 parochial high schools; in 1996 he was inducted into the 17 Chicago Public League Basketball Coaches Association Hall of 18 Fame; and 19 WHEREAS, The passing of Justin Fortuna will be felt by 20 all that knew him, especially his wife of 44 years, Muriel; 21 his sons, Jay, Frank, and John; his daughter, Ginny Bisluk; 22 his mother, Jean; his brother, Frank; and his twelve 23 grandchildren; therefore, be it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 26 all that knew him, the passing of Justin Fortuna of Mt. 27 Prospect, Illinois; and be it further 28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 29 presented to Mrs. Muriel Fortuna.
