1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Merlyn Davis, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Merlyn Davis was born on April 18, 1922 in
6 Batavia, Illinois; his parents were William and Mae Davis;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, Merlyn Davis was a graduate of Batavia High
9 School; he attended the University of Illinois for two years
10 before joining the United States Navy Air Corps; he received
11 his pilot's license while in the service; and
12 WHEREAS, Merlyn Davis was the owner of the Merlyn L.
13 Davis Insurance Agency in Geneva, which has been in business
14 for over forty years; Merlyn Davis was a member of the
15 Batavia American Legion Post #504, the Loyal Order of the
16 Moose, Batavia Lodge #682, and the Geneva Optimist Club; and
17 WHEREAS, Merlyn Davis will be remembered for his love of
18 traveling and playing bridge; and
19 WHEREAS, The passing of Merlyn Davis will be felt by all
20 that knew him, especially his wife, Betty; his daughter,
21 Elizabeth; his sister, Shirley; his nieces, Darlene and
22 Patricia; and his cousins and friends; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
25 Merlyn Davis of Batavia, Illinois, and extend our sympathies
26 to his family and friends; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Merlyn Davis.
