91_SR0441 LRB9115041KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Joseph Miceli, who recently passed 4 away; and 5 WHEREAS, Joseph Miceli was born in Lawrence, 6 Massachusetts on November 23, 1910; and 7 WHEREAS, After serving twenty-two years in the United 8 States Marines and the United States Navy, Joseph Miceli 9 retired in 1953; he was especially proud of being a part of 10 the Marine Corps Band; he performed with the band for 11 President Franklin Roosevelt at the White House; and 12 WHEREAS, Joseph Miceli served as an instructor at the 13 Navy School of Music in Washington, D.C.; after his transfer 14 to the United States Navy Band, he traveled the world with 15 his wife, Doris; and 16 WHEREAS, After his retirement from military service, 17 Joseph Miceli started a construction business in North 18 Chicago; he enjoyed spending the winter in Pompano Beach, 19 Florida; and 20 WHEREAS, Joseph Miceli was a former trustee of Emmanuel 21 United Methodist Church in North Chicago and also served as 22 the choir director; he was past President of Midwest 23 Contractors Association and a member of the Fleet Reserve 24 Association; and 25 WHEREAS, The passing of Joseph Miceli will be felt by all 26 who knew him, especially his wife of sixty-one years, Doris; 27 his children, Steve (wife, Martha), Michael, and Ann 28 (husband, Wes); his grandchildren, Steven (wife, Heather), 29 John, Christine, Megan, and Michael; his brother; and many 30 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it -2- LRB9115041KBkb 1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL 2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 3 all who knew him, the death of Joseph Miceli; and be it 4 further 5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 6 presented to the family of Joseph Miceli.
