91_SR0442 LRB9115042RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Rima Skorubskas, who passed away on October 24, 2000 in 5 Downers Grove; and 6 WHEREAS, Rima Skorubskas was born in Chicago and raised 7 in Cicero, Illinois; she attended Immaculate Heart of Mary 8 High School in Westchester; she earned her bachelor's degree 9 at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and her law degree 10 from DePaul University in Chicago; and 11 WHEREAS, Rima Skorubskas joined CNA HealthPro in Chicago 12 in November 1987 as an attorney and quickly distinguished 13 herself; in 1991 she was promoted to senior counsel and three 14 years later was named vice president and associate general 15 counsel; in 1996 she was promoted to group vice president and 16 deputy general counsel; in 1999 she was named general counsel 17 and executive vice president of CNA HealthPro; and 18 WHEREAS, Rima Skorubskas was recognized by Leadership 19 America, a national organization that in 1997 named her one 20 of the nation's leading women; and 21 WHEREAS, Rima Skorubskas was an avid advocate for 22 children's education, a concern she addressed as a tutor of 23 inner-city residents; she also served as a troop leader in 24 Lithuanian Scouting; and 25 WHEREAS, The passing of Rima Skorubskas will be deeply 26 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, 27 Algis Tamosiunas; her son Matas; and her many colleagues and 28 employees at CNA HealthPro in Chicago who will remember Rima 29 as a dedicated lawyer whose business skills and personality 30 took her to the top ranks of CNA HealthPro; therefore, be it 31 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL -2- LRB9115042RHrh 1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 2 all who knew her, the death of Rima Skorubskas of Downers 3 Grove, Illinois; and be it further 4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 5 presented to the family of Rima Skorubskas.
